This restaurant combines Italian cuisine and Michigan products
There is a new restaurant in Metro Detroit that is making a name for itself for its delicious food and small market. The owner and chef was able to get things done and develop a clientele despite the fact that he opened his restaurant during the pandemic.
Michelle Oliver of Live In The D chatted with Mike D’Angelo, the owner and chef of Mitten & Boot in Farmington Hills, about his new restaurant.
D’Angelo said Mitten & Boot combines its Italian heritage with its love for Michigan products. The menu is a combination of Italian dishes prepared with a variety of products made in Michigan with a few touches of Italian cuisine added to the recipe. Mitten & Boot’s menu includes pizzas, Ruebens, lasagna and more, all made from locally sourced produce. D’Angelo also highlighted the special Greek salad that sets it apart due to its tangy dressing, home-roasted beats, and oven-dried tomatoes. You can even take home a completely homemade meal for the whole family.
