Ontario-based subscription service offers authentic Italian cuisine

The culinary team at Toronto’s Terroni, Sud Forno and Spaccio restaurants has launched a new ready-to-cook Italian food delivery service.

PORTA is Ontario’s premier Italian meal subscription service, delivering traditional cuisine right to your doorstep.

“As restaurants were closed during the pandemic, we learned a lot about our customers’ desire to replicate parts of the dining experience at home,” said Cosimo Mammoliti, one of the founding partners of PORTA.

“Even though they couldn’t visit us in our restaurants, they still wanted the quality of the restaurant Italian food made with real ingredients. So I challenged our chefs to start thinking about how we could bring restaurant quality. Italian food at more tables across the country.

When the subscription service launches, PORTA will offer eight pasta dishes, eight pizzas and four desserts.

Roman style pizza dough called Stirata is used, which leaves a light and crispy finish.

“PORTA offers something that isn’t on the market today – an elevated dining experience that saves people time, effort and dreaded cleanup,” said Jason Cassidy, founding CEO of PORTA.

Each menu item is prepared fresh by chefs before being frozen to capture and protect the flavors. Ontarians can choose from three delivery options: weekly, bi-weekly or monthly.

Subscribers can change the delivery frequency, skip a week, or cancel at any time. The pizzas are priced at $ 11.99, the pasta for two servings at $ 18.99 and the desserts for four servings at $ 13.99.
