Inside Bocca Italian, the new beachfront Italian restaurant is coming to Bokarina Beach
When famed Sunshine Coast hospitality icon Tony Kelly announces he’s opening his eighth restaurant, you know it’s going to be good. The hospitality veteran is the genius behind Sunshine Coast institutions including rice boi and Spero at the Quai Mooloolaba, miss may at Sippy Downs, Market bistro and Stunned Geisha in Maroochydore, Piggyback in Palmwoods and the Eudlo General Store. His latest venture, you ask? A superb Italian restaurant by the sea in Bokarina.
italian bocca is situated on a prime beachfront location at Bokarina Beach and emulates a refined yet laid-back vibe. The 150-seat restaurant offers panoramic ocean views, an elegant layout, and even has a 14-seat private dining room for more intimate occasions. Scheduled to open in early June, this gorgeous Italian joint has been the talk of the Sunshine Coast hotel scene, and for good reason.
This authentic Italian restaurant brings a slice of Italy to the Sunshine Coast, serving a drool-worthy range of classic Italian dishes, while showcasing local ingredients. Bocca Italian places a strong emphasis on fresh produce, serving only the best of the best in their signature pastas and pizzas, the latter coming piping hot from a stone-based Moretti pizza oven imported from Italy. Although the full menu is still under wraps, we have no doubt it will be damn delicious. At the helm of the kitchen is Harry Lilai, who is Italian trained and the extensive menu shows his depth of flavor, knowledge and passion for top notch Italian cooking.
If that wasn’t already enough, Bocca Italian has a separate bottle shop next door, which offers a range of sip-worthy wines, spirits and craft beers that you can enjoy in the restaurant or sip at home with a pizza to go. . This is the dream.
Tony Kelly describes his new Italian venture as follows: “…a restaurant where locals and visitors alike will come, whether they are celebrating a special occasion or walking off the beach with sand between their toes, they will all be welcome with traditional Italian hospitality.and amazing flavors that you would expect to enjoy in any Italian coastal town.”
