Fiorella’s Favorite Italian Cuisine to Open New Inner Sunset Location on Monday
Fans of the wood-fired pizzeria Fiorello have been religiously checking this restaurant group’s Instagram page for the past month, since they posted on July 22 that the new Fiorello Sunset would open soon. Jobs went up on July 23, a July 27 message noted âOur custom oven at our new Sunset location is our largest yet,â they also teased a preview dinner on August 16, then the biggie announcement on August 17th that “Our new Sunset location has a full liquor license!” It means COCKTAILS! We will announce our opening date soon.
But the real news fell on Tuesday, when Fiorella has finally announced, âThe wait is over! We finally welcome you to our Sunset location! Join us for our smooth opening starting tomorrow (wine and beer only!) As we prepare for our grand opening next week.
As they had previously noted, the new location will feature âBay Area Toileâ wallpaper from Scented paper, which features local celebrities like Joe Montana and E-40. The new location will also be the first Fiorella with an outdoor rooftop dining area, which has an awning and heat lamps.
Eater SF has the extra delicious detail that the location “holds a special place in the heart of Fiorella co-founder Boris Nemchenok – it is the site of the first American restaurant where his parents dined when they emigrated from the Soviet Union in 1983”. Nemchenok and co-owner Bradon Gillis own Fiorella’s two other locations in Russian Hill and Outer Richmond, as well as Violet’s Tavern in the Richmond District.
We reported in December 2019 that this Fiorello would be arriving in the former Park Chow space, and a smooth opening is already underway. But if you want any of these cocktails above, from the mind of former bar manager Lolinda Candace Jae, it will have to wait until they fully open on Monday, August 30.
