A new contemporary Italian restaurant will open in Coal Harbor this spring

This spring, a new contemporary Italian restaurant is coming to Coal Harbour. How do you say “we are ready to eat our weight in gnocchi” in Italian?!

The team that brought us the award-winning the Santo in New West opens another future gem, named after the ancient Roman goddess of the night, Nox.

That’s right, the goddess Zeus himself feared is coming to Coal Harbor. Only, instead of bringing shadows and darkness, she brings fresh, local ingredients with a traditional Italian twist.

Influenced by the ‘micro-seasons’ of the West Coast and the Italian ethos of using what’s fresh and local, NOX will use changing menus to create truly unique dishes prepared with only the finest ingredients.

Even the wine list looks divine! General Manager and Director of Wines, Lucia Nahacka, is committed to focusing on wineries with sustainable practices in British Columbia and Italy.

Managing Director Alejandro Diaz recognizes the current “trend” of contemporary Italian cuisine in the industry. “NOX is contemporary, but not trendy. If restaurant food isn’t great and doesn’t make customers feel special, people won’t come back.

He and Chef Sam Fabbro are committed to creating a memorable experience for their guests through carefully crafted plates that represent the best of Italian cuisine and the West Coast culinary scene. “At NOX, we expect to see many regulars.” Count on us, NOX team!

The space itself is located on West Georgia St., nestled between great cafes and hidden bars in the quaint Coal Harbor neighborhood. The decor is as carefully selected as its menu – minimalist in design, with an emphasis on sustainability.

Like so many new businesses in Vancouver, NOX’s opening has been delayed by the pandemic. Luckily, it’s finally 2022 and we all know good things are coming to those who wait. (But seriously, the anticipation is killing us!)

Stay up to date on all the details on their Instagram, and keep an eye out for their food and drink menus! We’ll be sure to return when NOX opens.

We’ll see you there, Vancouver!
