A family-run Italian restaurant is about to open in the West Village

WEST VILLAGE, NY – A family-run Italian restaurant will open in the West Village on Tuesday.

Run by sibling business partners Aida and Fernando Scarpati, the restaurant will offer a healthy take on Italian cuisine at 15 Seventh Ave. South, between Carmine and Leroy streets.

The restaurant will have a 35-seat dining room with exposed brick walls, granite tables, a sycamore bar and an outdoor seating area that can seat 20 people.

The restaurant pays homage to Brother Ferdinando’s grandfather, who owned restaurants on the island of Ponza, Italy, before moving to the United States and passing on a variety of family recipes.

The menu will include the following items:

  • Fritto Misto: Zucchini, fennel, squid and wild prawns
  • Spaghetti Puttanesca: Capers, Italian olives, a touch of marinara sauce and herbs
  • Veal and Chicken Sofia: Stuffed with prosciutto and fontina cheese
  • Ricotta Cheesecake: Graham cracker crumbs with sweet and sour pears and blueberry sauce

You can consult the complete menu here.

The restaurant will serve dinner seven days a week from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on weekdays and until 11:00 p.m. on weekends. There will also be lunch on Thursday and Friday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. and brunch on weekends from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
